The typical mistake is buying your favorite player's shoe without asking whether their style resembles yours. A heavy, stable LeBron is ideal for a center, but a light point guard will be more comfortable in a Sabrina or a G.T. Cut. Here we explain every Nike line sold in 2026, their budget versions and the cushioning each one uses. Official prices from nike.com/es (Spanish store) on September 29, 2026.

Signature lines and performance lines

Nike makes two types of basketball shoes. Signature shoes carry a player's name (LeBron, KD, Giannis, Ja, Sabrina, Book) and are designed around how that player plays.

Performance shoes don't belong to any specific player. The G.T. family is the main one: the G.T. Cut is in its fourth generation. The G.T. Jump and G.T. Hustle were not listed for sale on nike.com/es on September 29, 2026; if you see them at other stores, they are usually previous generations.

Jordan is a Nike brand with its own game shoes. The newest line is Luka Dončić's Luka 5 (€129.99 on nike.com/es), with a budget version, the Luka .77 (€99.99).

Which line fits each player profile

Quick, light point guard: Sabrina 4, Ja 4 or G.T. Cut 4. They prioritize low weight, responsiveness and traction on changes of direction.

Shooting guard or shooter: Book 2, a stable shoe with good traction on clean courts.

Versatile small forward: KD19 or Giannis Freak 8. More cushioning without the weight of a LeBron.

Center or heavier player: LeBron XXIII. It is the most protective and stable, and also the heaviest.

The budget versions

Several lines have an affordable version with the same spirit and less technology.

Giannis Immortality is the budget Giannis line (the 5 costs €89.99). The G.T. Cut Academy 2 is the budget version of the G.T. Cut (€99.99). LeBron has the Witness line, simpler and cheaper than the main LeBron.

If you play once or twice a week, or outdoors, these versions are usually the smartest buy.

Cushioning and traction, in a nutshell

Air Zoom units are pressurized air pockets that give you a responsive push-off. A Zoom Strobel is a Zoom unit that runs the full length of the footbed, right under your foot.

ZoomX is Nike's lightest, most responsive foam. Cushlon 3.0 is a firmer, more stable foam that usually serves as the base. ReactX and Renew are simpler foams.

For traction, almost all of them use soft-rubber herringbone patterns that grip very well on a clean indoor court but wear down outdoors. If you play on outdoor courts, the Immortality 5 holds up better.

Verdict

If you're starting out or play outdoors, the Giannis Immortality 5 for €90 is the smartest choice. For a quick point guard on indoor courts, the G.T. Cut Academy 2 gives you a lot for €100; if you want a higher-end shoe, the Sabrina 4 or Ja 4 for €130, and the G.T. Cut 4 if you have narrow feet. Shooting guards and shooters, the Book 2. Small forwards, the KD19 or Freak 8. And if you're a center or a heavier player, the LeBron XXIII offers the most protection, although it's heavy and costs €200.

Frequently asked questions

Are signature basketball shoes better than regular ones?

Not necessarily. They're designed around one player's game; if their style doesn't resemble yours, a performance line or a budget version may suit you better.

Can you wear Nike basketball shoes on outdoor courts?

Almost all of them use soft rubber designed for indoor play and wear down quickly outdoors. On this list, the Giannis Immortality 5 is the best suited for outdoor courts.

What is the best Nike basketball shoe for heavy players?

The LeBron XXIII, thanks to its cushioning, carbon plate and stability. On a smaller budget, the KD19 also offers good protection.

Do Nike basketball shoes run small?

Most run true to size in length, but many are narrow in the toe box. If you have wide feet, try them on or go up half a size.
