With adidas, the typical mistake is paying €160 for a signature shoe to play once a week, when a budget model performs just as well at that level. Shoes from lines that no longer exist are also still on sale. Here we explain the adidas lines still alive in 2026, which player profile each one is for and what cushioning they use. Prices from Decathlon and adidas.es (Spanish stores) on September 29, 2026.

The adidas lines in 2026

adidas has fewer signature lines than Nike, but they cover every budget.

Anthony Edwards (AE) is adidas's standout line in 2026. The Anthony Edwards 2 is the high-end model, and the Believe That 1, released in 2026, is its budget version.

Harden, from James Harden, is on the Volume 10. It has the best traction and the snuggest fit.

Dame, from Damian Lillard, who signed a lifetime deal with adidas in 2024. The Dame X (the tenth) is the latest Dame on sale in Spain and is now heavily discounted.

The D.O.N. Issue, from Donovan Mitchell, launched its eighth version in August 2026.

What about Trae Young?

The Trae Young line no longer exists. adidas and Trae Young ended their contract in 2024, and the Trae Young 4 was canceled.

If you see a Trae Young 3 for sale, it's a 2023 model. It can be a good deal, but it's not a current model.

The budget option: Own The Game

Own The Game is adidas's basic basketball shoe. Version 3.0 has Lightmotion cushioning and a breathable mesh upper.

It's the best seller at Decathlon for beginners, schools and occasional players. If you play more than twice a week, it's worth stepping up to a discounted Dame X or a Believe That 1.

Cushioning and traction, in a nutshell

Boost, Light Boost and Lightboost are the adidas foams with the most bounce and protection. Lightstrike is firmer and lighter. Dreamstrike and Lightmotion are used in the budget models.

For traction, the Harden Volume 10 is one of the grippiest shoes on indoor courts. For outdoor courts, the Believe That 1 has a thick herringbone pattern that holds up better than the high-end models.

Verdict

If you're starting out, the Dame X for €34 at Decathlon is a bargain that's hard to beat; the Own The Game 3.0 is the alternative if you want something light for playing now and then. If you play outdoors, the Believe That 1. For small forwards and physical players who want a high-end shoe, the Anthony Edwards 2. And if you have narrow feet and prioritize grip, the Harden Volume 10. The D.O.N. Issue 8 is the new option for point guards and shooting guards, but there's still little technical information about it.
